Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

US entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.

The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA recently following treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by media reports.

"He saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a statement.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive TV Career

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, including:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was involved with a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.

Finn is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
