Iran Claims Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the American officials has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
It said missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
