Netflix Chooses Ideal Star for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Season 3
Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a cherished, popular member has just been cast.
The platform declared Tuesday that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Mr. 2. The role can use their power to change into an exact copy of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that character re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag queen, in the live-action show, as in the original manga and cartoon version.
This performer joins several other recently announced actors who will portray the organization to reality, including leader the main antagonist, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the cast as the monarch of the desert kingdom.
Although Bon Clay is a major member of Baroque Works, the persona will be introduced in One Piece season 3. Considering the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the plot development.
Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the part. In addition to their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is set to return for its second season on March 10, 2026.
